Why This Work Matters

I paint when words aren’t enough.
Some experiences resist explanation. Some tensions live beneath language. Painting allows those forces to surface — not as decoration, but as confrontation.
This work exists to examine power, autonomy, vulnerability, and the systems that shape how we see ourselves and each other.
It asks questions that don’t resolve neatly.

About this Painting

Power & Ownership

Who holds power? Who is observed? Who is defined?

My work investigates the subtle ways identity is shaped — culturally, politically, socially. Through layered imagery and symbolism, I explore how autonomy can be claimed, restricted, marketed, or reclaimed.

The canvas becomes a space where control is challenged and presence is asserted.

Vulnerability & Strength

There is strength in exposure.

I’m drawn to moments where fragility and force coexist. Where something soft carries weight. Where discomfort reveals truth.

These pieces hold tension intentionally. They are not meant to disappear into a room. They are meant to shift it.

Process & Physicality

Each painting is built through layers. Forms are constructed, obscured, reworked. Nothing is accidental, even when it feels raw.

The physical act matters. The surface carries the history of its making. What remains visible is only part of what occurred.

That tension between control and surrender is embedded in the final piece.

Why It Matters Now

We live in a culture saturated with images that ask for nothing.

This work asks for attention.

It invites the viewer into a space where unspoken questions can exist without immediate answers. Where presence has weight. Where autonomy feels tangible.

When someone chooses to live with one of these pieces, they are choosing engagement over passivity.
